Gary and I have just learned of your moms death since our return from holiday. Our sympathies to you all. Mary Liz and Fred were always such gracious hosts in our political days and beyond. It was always a treat to run into your mom and what both of us thought would be a brief encounter would turn into a nice long visit that invariably included lots of laughs, a smatter of politics, a proud update of your family and maybe a sprinkle of local gossip! Not knowing the circumstances of your moms death we do hope she died peacefully knowing she was loved and very well liked by so many. Our condolences to you all and enjoy a beautiful celebration of life at her happy place next summer. XO Liz and Gary Lane

It was with great sadness when I heard of Mary Liz's passing. Over the last 23 years I have had many wonderful encounters and conversations with Mary Liz. I will truly cherish and miss these times. I extend my deepest sympathy to all of her family.

Condolences to all of Mary-Liz;s family. I first met her when she was 17 - at Central Collegiate - and considered her a friend all these years. When we both lived in Hillsdale for many years,, we were in quite a bit of contact. The Courtney family attended Westminster Church in the first year of my marriage, so I knew her Mom & Dad too.
I haden't seen her for the last couple of years, but my husband, Glen and I always considered her and Fred "Good Friends".
Sincerely,
Beulah Stinson

Helen and John, you both know Mary Liz was like a sister to all us "kids" and Anna and I HAVE MANY FOND MEMORIES OF US PULLING UP TO THEIR PIER IN OUR BOAT, FROM MISSION LAKE, FOR A BRIEF (AND SOMETIMES OVERSTAYED, VISIT). Regina and the Qu'Appelle Valley will miss the warmth of
a very special "gal". John I will never forget Mary Liz and Fred's infamous 1953
wedding and the Hotel Saskatchewan reception. Wonderful memories and lot of love,
Anna and Joe

I am sorry for your loss. She was a fine woman. I first knew your Mom when I was a member of Junior Chapter of the IODE in the late 60s; then again during these last years when she lived in her condo on Hamilton. Whenever we met, she always had a smile and was ready to chat about her current adventures. I know she will be missed by all of you and many others.

I knew your mom from church. I didn't know her last name but I was extremely fond of her. She was such a wonderful person. I enjoyed sitting with her at church and the conversations we had. She loved her family and her summer home at Katepwa. Sometimes you just instantly like someone without ever really knowing them, but I somehow felt close to your mom. May she Rest in Peace. Please let me know when her service is next summer. My condolences to you all. Treasure the memories.

I enjoyed knowing Mary Elizabeth through our respective IODE Chapters, as well as in our provincial organization. In discussions, her comments were always so well thought out.
More recently, we have shared concerns about other former members over the phone, and just a couple of weeks ago we chatted briefly at the hairdresser's.
She was a very fine person.

James and I would like to extend our condolences to Mary Elizabeth’s Family. She was our neighbour at College Park and we loved our visits and shared love of having a cottage at a lake. She was an easy person to converse with on any subject. She will be missed by all of us at our condo.
