Renate Buck

Obituary of Renate Buck

Renate passed away peacefully at the young age of 93 with her son, Curtis by her side on Friday, November 1, 2019 in Regina, SK.  She was predeceased by her husband Robert; her parents Sophie and Henry; sister Logathe (Arnold) Niebergall; brothers Irvin (Gwen) Yauck and Arthur Yauck; sister-in-law Loretta Yauck; as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Fred (Doreen) Buck, Mary (Gus) Tabler, Norman Residorf, Walter Reisdorff. Renate is survived and lovingly remembered by her only son Curtis; brothers Ed Yauck, Henry (Irene) Yauck; sisters-in-law Freda Reisdorf and Bertha Residorf and many nieces and nephews. Renate grew up in the Cymric, SK area and when she finished school, a number of years later moved into Regina.  She had a very entrepreneurial spirit and sharp mind.  When Renate moved to Regina she purchased a boarding house near Central Collegiate, while keeping that in tiptop shape she frugally worked hard and paid off her investment in no time at all.  Her faith was very strong and as a result she met the love of her life Robert with friends and continued to be very active in various Church activities her whole life. Renate’s door was always open babysitting a few kids here and there, gardening some of the best bounty for our table, crocheting from a young age with her sister Loggie some of the finest designs, sewing until her heart was content fixing and quilting.   Thank you for the wonderful care Renate had these past few years at the Extendicare Elmview Care home.  Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK, on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Arron Gust officiating.  Flowers respectfully declined.  Memorial gifts in Renate’s memory may be made to the: Lutheran Laymen’s League of Canada, (Lutheran Hour Ministries – Canada), 270 Lawrence Avenue, Kitchener, ON, N2M 1Y4.
