We are so very sorry to hear of Doug’s passing. We are members of the Collectors Car Club and were involved in the annual Labor Day Access carshow with Doug leading all the meetings. Doug was the leader, the focal point of all the activity, he was sorely missed at this year’s show although he did appear briefly. Doug is definitely in a better place and I am sure is heading up all heavenly activities with that wonderful voice and the smile. Our most sincere condolenses.

Please accept our condolences at the passing of Doug. I knew him in his role at Access Communications, but for Judy and me, and likely many, many other Boomers in Saskatchewan, he was the voice of our youth on CK Radio. With his passing, ends an era. May God receive him with favour.

Wendy, Karen and Mrs. Alexander:
I was saddened to her about the passing of your dad (and husband). I have many fond memories of those Somerville Road and WC How days - your dad was a “famous” celebrity to us kids and we knew him!! As an adult I grew to understand and appreciate his significant contribution to Regina and our community. It was impressive.
Take comfort in all your own memories and the full life he enjoyed. Unfortunately I am away today and tomorrow and will not be able to attend his service. I would have so liked to pass on my condolences to you in person. My thoughts are with you and your families at this difficult time.

Dear Joanna and family, it was one week ago tomorrow that my daughter Carla sent me s message of Doug’s passing. I was numbed and deeply saddened. I have known Doug since 1966 in Saskatoon. Following that our lives criss-crossed in Regina through so many common undertakings. Doug was always bigger than life itself no matter what he was doing and it always was done well. The cause of his death came as a great surprise. I know his passing will leave a big hole on your life and I pray that in your quiet, private moments you will look around the room and find some memento of one of Doug’s great achievements and will take solace knowing you helped him attain that goal and got to share it with others him. Peace to you and the girls and their families. Jim toth

Dear Joanna and Wendy and Karen,
It was with great shock and sadness that my sister, Irene Deck, CKCK colleague of Doug shared the news of his passing with me. I offer you my condolences in the loss of your remarkable husband and father. As a listener of radio, I remember Doug’s distinctive voice on the air whether broadcasting the weather, the funnies, football games, Remembrance Day, or good old rock and roll music. He was certainly a master at sharing events with his voice and sharp mind. I heard him most recently over the air when he and other colleagues gathered in April for a CKCK reunion of the oldie goldies. It was so great to hear him and his buddies recall the good old days of CKCK Radio. I know Doug will be greatly missed by you especially and of course, by all his fans. May you take comfort in your precious memories of him. His was a life fully lived by contributing extensively to his community and through the air waves reaching far and wide in the province of Saskatchewan. Thank you Doug, for sharing your life so expansively and with excellent expression. May you now Rest In Peace after many tasks well done.
With Sincere Sympathy,
Lynda Browning.

We have known each other forever. Our families have shared so many special events in both of our lives. Joanna, you were my “Jobie” mom. Doug was my “Jobie” dad. Wendy we were sisters. Celebrated our marriages. Our first child. I remember so many of our girl chats. Please know that you all are in my thoughts. The world has lost a wonderful soul and man. His voice will be remembered forever. His commitment to community and others will never be forgotten.
