Jason Gilhooly

Obituary of Jason Brent Gilhooly

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jason Gilhooly at the age of 55 years. He was born on May 2, 1964, in Regina, Saskatchewan. Jason was “gathered to God” with his loving parents, grandparents, and other close friends on November 9, 2019. His spirit lives on with his daughter, Amanda Gilhooly (Ken Harrison); the mother of his beloved daughter, Karla Connelly; his brother Charles Gilhooly (Valatta Young) and family; his sister Shannon Hein and family; his true friend and confidant Diana Larente; as well as the innumerable friends on whose lives he made an everlasting impact. Jason’s love for his family, both biological and extended, knew no bounds. He took every opportunity to brag about his daughter to everyone he knew or encountered. His daughter was the centre of his universe. Yet, he made many people feel that they were the centre of his universe too. His humanitarianism, empathy to others, and kindness to those in need, lead to his unbiased, tolerant, and indiscriminate caring of all he knew. His life was not without tragedy, yet he was able to help those in need without prejudice. There are many examples of how Jason would make change in the world. Whether it be with his “Cosmo Kids”, colleagues in need, or anyone who needed a moment of caring. Jason, your kindness and compassion will be sorely missed by all. A Celebration of Jason’s Life will be held at the Eagle’s Club, 1600 Halifax Street, Regina, SK, on December 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or donations, Jason would appreciate contributions to his kids at the Cosmo Learning Centre at cosmolearningcentre.ca.
