Obituary of Gerrit Van Nus

Gerry passed away peacefully in Regina on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by one son Gerry and one grandson Josh. Gerry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Johanna; son Tom (Jean); daughter Yvonne (Gary) Williams; grandchildren, Matthew (Trisha), Jessica (Chet), Justin (Nicole), Dallas, Chadwyn (Terri-Anne), Anica (Paul), and Jordan (Chantal); eight great-grandchildren, Zachary, Emma, Elena, James, Lily, Finley, Leia, and Noah; four brothers and one sister and their families. Gerry immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands with Johanna in 1955 and served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 6 years where he learned to be an electrician. He was a journeyman electrician for the U of S for 26 years. Gerry devoted his entire life in service to God. He is now at rest and with his Heavenly Father. Gerry will be greatly missed by his family and by all whose lives he touched. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Heritage Alliance, 3575 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John McGregor officiating.
