Joseph Pukal

Obituary of Joseph Edward Pukal

Joseph Pukal, of Regina and formerly of Invermay, SK passed away peacefully on January 14, 2020 at the age of 92 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Louise, in 2014 and his parents, one brother and two sisters. He is survived by son Ben (Lorna) and their daughters Sara and Vanessa; daughter Karine (Bob) Mayes and their children Dean, Clark and Karah; and one sister Irene Brezinski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph was born March 4, 1927 to Ben and Mary (Olynuik) Pukal. Joe farmed with his dad and eventually took over the family farm. He married Louise Barteski on October 30, 1954. They farmed together until 2004, and continued living on the farm until 2009 when they moved to Regina. Joe and Louise were members of St. Anthony’s Parish, Rama SK and Blessed Sacrament Parish Regina, SK. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Joseph loved to play his harmonica and violin for family and friends. He loved to barbeque for all the special events held on their farm. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy; his wife his greatest treasure. The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to the many staff members of Extendicare Parkside who treated Joe like family; and provided compassionate care to him for two and a half years and in his final hours. Mass offerings may be made in celebration of Joe’s life.
