Obituary of Darlene Bunnie

Darlene, late of Sakimay First Nation, passed away peacefully in Regina, surrounded by family and friends, on Thursday, January 16, 2020. She was born in Broadview, SK, on April 20, 1950. She was predeceased by her parents Mary Alice and John Ponace; son Shannon Ponace; sister Betty Mae Ponace; and brother Laurie Poness; grandchildren, Dustin Listoe Ponace, Christian Angel Jewel Alexson-Ponace and Shariah Ponace. Darlene is survived by her loving husband Hector Bunnie; sisters, Debbie Ponace, Maxine Hall, and Edie Ponace; brother Edward Ponace; children, Dean, Dion, Maxwell, Marlin, Allison, Angelique Ponace, Jonathan and Alyssa Bunnie; grandchildren she raised, Justin, Noel, Darla, Evangeline and Tyler Ponace; also by all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she had a very close bond with; nieces, nephews and cousins; special people in her life, Janet Dufour (Beads), Judy Held, Geraldine Starblanket, Shirley Pelletier, Viola Gordon, Florence Alexson, and Ina George; as well as her many friends too numerous to mention. The family wishes to thank everyone for all the love and support they have received during this difficult time. Wake will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. with Edmund Jordan officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
