Obituary of John Sawatzky

John, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the age of 82 with his loving family at his side. He fought a short but brave battle with cancer. John was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Olga Sawatzky; brothers, Peter and Hal; sister, Karen; father-in-law and mother-in-law Anton and Rosie Kondraski; and brothers-in-law, Joe Kondraski and Larry Winter. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marion; son John “Johnny”; sisters, Ginger (Ed) Youdan and Anne Winter; sister-in-law Anna Kondraski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John started out working on a grain elevator construction crew and later became a journeyman auto mechanic working at Auto Electric Service, until his retirement after 40 years of service. In his spare time, John enjoyed woodworking, reading and good conversations with friends. He took great pride in maintaining his home and yard. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on unit 4A at the Pasqua Hospital, who gave him excellent care. At John’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. A Memorial Reception will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Private interment in Riverside Memorial Park will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in John’s memory, may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 7T1. To leave
