Obituary of Elizabeth Nancy Lawson

It is with deep sadness that the family of Elizabeth (Beth) Nancy Lawson (nee Large) announces her passing at the age of 90 years on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. She will be forever missed and remembered by her loving husband of almost seventy years, Johnny, her son Kirk (Karen), granddaughters Chanda (Kim) Schmidt and Christy (Chris Murray) Lawson, and great-grandchildren, Ireland Schmidt, and Cael and Grace Dunbar. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Flo Pinches and numerous nieces and nephews. Beth was born near Abernethy, Saskatchewan, the youngest of ten children. She spent her life in Regina, Medicine Hat and Regina Beach. Beth was a long-time resident of Regina Beach where she and Johnny designed, built, and operated First Cabin Golf for many years. She was also very involved in a variety of community events and activities during her forty years as a resident there. Beth will always be admired and remembered for her gentle spirit, generous nature and kind heart. Beth always saw the positive side and goodness in everything and everybody. She was especially known for her wonderful baking that she lovingly shared with her family and friends over the years. The family would like to thank the attentive staff at the Pasqua Hospital, Palliative Care Unit 3A for their compassionate care during the final weeks of Beth’s life. A Celebration of Beth’s life will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Private family interment will be held at Regina Beach Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in memory of Beth to Regina Palliative Care 3A, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5.
