Obituary of Edwin Michel Heilman

PLEASE NOTE: With much regret, the family of Edwin have chosen to cancel the celebration that was planned for April 4th, due to the COVID-19 health concerns.
Our sincere apologies.

Edwin (Ed) Heilman, 77, of Regina Beach, Saskatchewan, passed away with his children by his side at the Regina Pasqua Hospital on Sunday,  February 9, 2020.

Ed was born in Macklin, SK on December 3, 1942 to Peter and Margaret (Ollenberger) Heilman. He attended school in Major, Salvador, and Wilkie. Ed was an avid learner. He taught himself to build houses and cabinets, play mandolin and guitar, fix cars and just about anything else that needed it. He loved hunting, curling, and cooking for his family.

The majority of Ed’s life was spent in the Unity and Wilkie area where he farmed, built custom kitchens, and in his younger years, sold auto parts. In retirement, he moved to Regina Beach to be near his sons.

Ed is survived by his six children, Jackie (Cyril) Rundell, Brad Heilman, Leanne (Brad) Bartko, Bob Heilman, Randy Heilman, and Bonnie Heilman; his eight grandkids, Rhett Rundell, Jared Rundell, Lauren Rundell, Krista Heilman, Brandi Heilman, Ty Heilman, Shawna Bartko, and Ryan Bartko; his sister Annette Heilman, his brother Terry (Colleen) Heilman, and their children Jason and Ashley; as well as many family and friends in Unity, Wilkie, and Regina Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Diabetes Canada, 1300-522 University Avenue, Toronto, ON, M5G 2R5 or a hospital of your choice.
