Obituary of Doreen Schwindt

It is with sadness that the family of Jean Doreen Schwindt announces her passing on Monday, March 9, 2020.  Born May 9, 1936 in Regina, she was 83 years old.  Doreen struggled for the past four years with cancer and decided, on her own terms, and in her own time, to end that battle.  Her family is so very proud of the courage that she displayed throughout and in making the final decision for herself as she so chose.  Doreen was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Kelvin in April of 2011;  her parents, Ottilia and Adam Lindenbach; brothers, Ray, Herb, and Bert; sisters, Pearl, Linda, Miriam, and Eleanor; sisters-in-law Theresa, Fran and Alberta; and brothers-in-law Mervin, Adolph, Fred, Frank and Alfred .  Left to mourn Doreen are her four children, Karen (Nick) and their children, Matthew and Michael; Cindy (Roger); Lou and his children Erin and Joshua (Shayla); and Andy (Bonnie) and their children Colin and Kristen (fiancé Gary); dear sister Ida Schmalenburg; and dear sisters-in-law Rose Huber and Enid Lindenbach.  She will also be missed by her precious great-grandsons Jackson and Ryan.  Doreen was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family as well as cooking for her family!  She was very proud of every one of her kids, grand kids and great-grand sons.  She and Kelvin enjoyed long drives and had many adventures behind the wheel.  At her request there will be no funeral service. A private family interment in Riverside Memorial Park will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Doreen’s memory may be made to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7.
