Jennie Kiesman

Obituary of Jennie Eileen Kiesman

KIESMAN, Jennie Eileen

(née Boe)

Jennie, late of Lumsden, SK passed away on March 22, 2020 at the age of 91 years.  She was born in Dahlton, SK on February 5, 1929.  Jennie was the 9th of 12 children born to Ethel (Olson) and Einar Boe.  She married the love of her life Arnold Kiesman on June 4, 1954.  They raised their family of six children in Flin Flon, Manitoba.  After Dad retired they moved to Lanigan, SK in 1990.  When Dad passed away in May 2004, Mom stayed in Lanigan until August 2012 when she moved to Lumsden.  Mom had a life-long love of gardening and plants.  We grew up in a houseful of indoor plants long before indoor plants became trendy.  She was a major prize winner at many horticultural events, and their vegetable garden was always bountiful. In 1975 Mom became a member of the North Star Odd Fellows Rebekah Lodge and was very proud to be involved.  Mom always had a love of fashion and jewelry, and she enjoyed her years as an Avon lady.  She achieved and maintained the level of President’s Club for many years. Mom loved all kinds of music. We have wonderful childhood memories of her working in her kitchen, always humming and singing. She sang in choirs, the most recent being the Lumsden Fossils, and enjoyed friendships she made along life’s way.  She and Dad loved to dance, and they spent their retirement dancing, gardening, and travelling to see family. Mom’s legacy of family was very important to her and she will be lovingly remembered by her 6 children, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren: daughter Lori (Myles) and family - Janel and baby Elliot, Danica (Glen) and children Cain, Arwen, and Pierce, Riley (Amanda) and children Andy and Cohen; daughter Cheryl (Dave) and family – Scott and children Jade and Leif, Marlise (Peter) and children Daxton and Elora, Evan (Stacey) and son Desmond; daughter Arlene (Daniel) and family – Ryan, Karla (Mitch) and baby Ayla; daughter Marsha and family - Courtney and Levi; son David; son Daniel and family – Dylan (Meghan) and children Dmitri and Silas, Aaron (Lovey).  Mom is also survived by her brother Orrin and his wife Clara, numerous nieces and nephews, and members of the Kiesman family. Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Arnold, her parents Ethel and Einar, 10 of her much-loved siblings and their husbands and wives.  Mom is now free from pain and dancing once again with her sweetheart. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be a family graveside service in Moosehorn, Manitoba August 1, 2020.
