Sending my condolences to you all at this very sad time. Watching the beautiful service for your mom reminded me of all the great memories I had growing up with Sharolyn and spending time at the farm. Your mom and dad were always so welcoming and made me feel like part of the family. She was definitely a great cook and where I tasted my first cream puff. I always remember your mom being at every sporting event and cheering the loudest. She was so proud! It’s sad how fast time flies but the memories will live on.
Sending you all big hugs!

Marsha, Leila, Sharolyn, Terrie and families.
We have many fond memories of Twylla and have been fortunate to get to know her over the years.
I had the opportunity a few years ago to take a weekend getaway with Leila and Twylla to visit Meghan for her birthday and take in one of Meghan's ball games at University. I found out a few things about Twylla on that trip. She took her map reading as well as how her hair looked seriously. Even a few months ago, shortly after moving to DSPCH her hair was still a worry. I stopped for a visit, quietly knocking on the door and slowly opening it to the sounds of hair spray spraying. She came out of her bathroom through the fog of hairspray, quite concerned that she just couldn't do anythig with the back of her hair. She turned for me to look at it. I touched it and had to giggle as I replied, "Twylla your hair looks just fine. Trust me, it's not going to move!" It was as hard as a rock!
From the first time we met Twylla (and John) we felt like family. Twylla's kind, loving and generous ways are qualities that have been instilled in her family. She was so very proud of each and every one of you and your greatest supporter.
"Those we love are always with us. Their laughter, their wisdom and their thoughtfulness are gifts of love that are ours to keep.
May these gifts of your loved one help console you now and fill your hearts with comfort."
Sincere Sympathy,
Danny and Mary Jayne Pflanzner

Your Mom was a beautiful person both inside and out. We have so many wonderful memories of all of those evenings that our family spent with your Mom and Dad and you girls, the card games and the wonderful feast that your Mom would serve to everyone at the end of the night. There has never been anyone that could make scuffles like Twylla did.
The service was so touching and you gave a beautiful tribute to your Mom. She was strong, kind and caring and she has passed all of those wonderful attributes on to you girls.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

To my Cousins, Aunts and Uncles, Dad and Mom and families:
We were all blessed to have had such an amazing woman in our lives. As a mother, sister, aunt, grand parent, great grand parent and friend to many she was a guiding light for all of us.
I was one of the few privileged people that was allowed to prepare a meal for Aunt Twylla. I asked her how she would like her steak cooked. She said "cook it 'till you can't cook it no more, then when you think it's done cook it some more!" I will never forget what it looked like. She said she loved it. I would not have expected another response from her.
I have extremely fond memories of the farm and my girls still talk about the trip they took to Regina, the hospitality and warmth that we received with never be forgotten.
My condolences to all.
Take care everyone

We just watched the beautiful service for Twylla. We attend Grace Mennonite, but never really got to know Twylla until, after she moved into College Park, when we picked her up for church every Sunday. She always had a special "Good Morning, have I got the right car?" when she got into the car, and we were so appreciative that she felt comfortable going with us. We really got to know a little more about her and her family. She was always telling us about the sports events she was going to because one of her grandchildren was playing. Don plays with the Heritage Fiddlers, and when they played at College Park, Twylla most always came down to listen to the music. We would have "snack" together after. And then she wanted to clean up the dishes for us all. Just like she had always done. Our thoughts are with you all at this time. God Bless You.

That was a beautiful funeral and a perfect tribute to Auntie Twylla! We certainly will miss her very much. I will remember so, so many things about her. I still tell people to this day how my favourite deserts I would save room for from Auntie Twylla were fresh buns covered in gravy and then fresh cream puffs. But the thing I will remember the most is her smile and laugh.
Sharolyn, you did an amazing job with the tribute to your mom.

We are so sorry to hear of Twylla's passing. She was the most generous and hospitable person. We enjoyed many visits and a few overnights with John and Tywlla and then later with just Twylla. The night of our first grandsons birth, Twylla welcomed Holly and I and Holly's Mom & Dad to spend the night there. Twylla, our son-in-laws mother (Angela Gent), Holly and I and her parents were all on speaker phone finding out about our first grandson. A very special moment for all of us that we shared together. Our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your mom. Our family has many fond memories of going to the farm. Memories of our boys wrestling with Uncle John in his favorite chair, or sliding down the snow covered slopes of the dugout or bouncing on the trampoline with Auntie Twylla. Our memories almost always includes both of them as they were such a pair—you seldom got one without the other. In later years Gord and I enjoyed MANY late nights playing canasta with the mandatory cup of tea and goodies to top off the night. We even invented our own three handed version with Twylla so the playing and visiting could continue. We will really miss Twylla. Her girls ( and their families) meant the world to her and she was so proud of the circle of families that were growing and developing.
Take care of each other—remember her with a smile through the tears. God Bless.
Much love

One of my special memories was babysitting during combining when Sharolyn was a baby. Twylla was adamant that I needed to know how to drive out to the field where she would be on the combine, despite being only 14 years old. So, she put me in the driver’s seat of the big old blue car, and away we went around the barnyard and out to the field! Twylla also taught me what a lifesaver a soother could be for Sharolyn and I when the Mom was still combining at 10:30 PM.
I am so glad that I had one last visit with her last Sept in Trossachs.
Our sympathy. Twylla will be missed by many. Love from Debbie Bathgate and family.

Twylla wrapped her arms around us and always made us feel welcomed as she did with everyone she met. We will treasure our visits to the farm, our shopping excursions with Twylla (and there were many), the trips to the States and the food, yes the food she prepared from her heart to keep us all a smiling. The door to her home was like a revolving door with family and friends continually coming and going and they were always received with a giant smile and hug.
May she rest in eternal peace. Our thoughts and prayers to Marsha, Leila, Sharolyn, Terrie and their families during this sorrowful time.

Twylla was the older sister/second mother that was always there for us, her family and friends and neighbors. She always had the coffee pot on and some fresh baked goodies on the counter or in freezer to go with that hot cup of coffee. She loved the farm life, family and friends and she especially liked the view from her kitchen window on the farm which she reluctantly gave up eventually.
In order to cook all of those wonderful meals she grew a huge garden every year with lots, and lots, and lots of peas as they were her favorite to freeze for winter. To this day I do not plant peas in my garden as I hate shucking peas and I feel I did enough to last a life time every summer at Twylla and Johns.
I loved spending every summer at my older sisters house, and am glad that we had the ability to do so. Although I am not sure how she put up with us every year!!!
The time has come for you to rest in heaven now my dear sister and I truly hope someone has a nice hot cup of coffee and a sweet scuffle or square ready and waiting for you as you truly deserve it!
All My Love Marla and Rick
