Irwin and family: I am late posting this but still wanted to convey my sympathies. I went to high school and had some classes with Monica. Monica was an incredible volleyball mom! We worked many a tournament as our daughters played together, and as I had the privilege to coach and teach them too. She was fun and eager, energetic and hard-working. She was frugal, and she owned it, always sharing ideas for saving money, while at the same time giving so generously of her time and skills. She was so appreciative of what people did for her and her kids, and she was gifted as an encourager. She made people feel welcome and happy, just for showing up. We pray for comfort for you Arden, Erin, Erwin, Helen and family. Connie, Rob, Portia, and Anaka

What I will remember best about Monica is her boisterous laugh. I am certain she knew what she wanted out of life and that laugh, oh that laugh, said it all. Whether she was working for the City, working a fundraiser for the kids' sports, or visiting at family gatherings, she was friendly and kind to everyone she met. Another memory about Monica involved Superstore. I was shopping and Monica spotted me and made a direct bee-line over to say hello. We chatted about mundane things and had laughs. Then Monica shared some of her secrets to working grocery specials and coupons to save money. I was fascinated with her strategies and it was obvious they were successful. I will miss playing crokinole and losing to you. Rest in peace, honourary cousin.
