Obituary of Bruce Hilding Hesterman
Bruce Hilding Hesterman passed away peacefully on May 6, 2020 at the age of 56, with his wife Tracy by his side.
Bruce was born July 30, 1963 to Gordon and Gloria Hesterman. He was the fourth child in a family of five. He was raised at Ormiston, Saskatchewan on the family ranch. He attended school in both Ormiston and Crane Valley. He participated in 4-H for several years involved in the beef program. Growing up he spent winters trapping muskrats and selling the pelts for extra spending money. He was always an active outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and riding motor cycles, throughout his life.
Bruce decided to take an auto body course at STI in Moose Jaw. It was there that he found a passion for the work which he continued to enjoy for his entire life.
He moved around a lot in the early years of his career making lifelong friends in every stop along the way.
Bruce also enjoyed being in the 46ers Car Club, where he made numerous friends. He was a people person!!
Bruce and Tracy met in 1987. She was impressed by his 2-stepping, which the two of them enjoyed.
Bruce and Tracy attended the St. Victor Boogie every year from 1988 on. It was always an anticipated event and he enjoyed every minute of it!! He and Tracy were often the chefs for the weekend for many friends and family.
Bruce and Tracy welcomed Ryan into their family in October, 1991. They were married in July, 1992 and welcomed a second son, Thomas in August, 1994.
Bruce continued working in the auto body profession in Regina for 8 years, from 87-95. Then back to Assiniboia to work for Helland Brothers from 95-2000. Then back to work in Regina again from 2000-2007. Yes the moving around continued and so did the making friends.
In 2007, Bruce was in an accident that mapped out the next several years of his life. Recovering from his injuries was a long and quite often painful journey. But he always seemed to take it all in stride and have a positive attitude. During this time he perfected his sausage recipe, his homemade pizza recipe and learned to make pickles and jam!!
Bruce was employed by TS&M from 2017 until his passing. It was job he enjoyed very much and of course he made more good friends.
Bruce and Tracy welcomed Ryan’s wife Alii to the family in April, 2017.
Bruce became a proud grandfather in August, 2018 when grandson Zayne was born. Granddaughter Addie-Jay joined the family in March, 2020 adding more joy to grandpa’s life. Bruce was a very loving family man.
Bruce was predeceased by his mother-in-law Rose in 2007; his brother-in-law Jody in 2009 and his father Gordon in 2013.
He is survived by his loving wife Tracy and their sons Ryan (Alii) and Thomas; grandchildren Zayne and Addie-Jay; mother Gloria; siblings, Betty (Tim), Keith (Marnel), Doug (Tracy), Kathy (Russell) and all of their families which include several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; as well as several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
