My condolences to the whole Whiting family. You mom was an awesome woman. Jack and Dora were two of the kindest people in my youth. I am sorry I could not be at her celebration of life yesterday. Dora was always a thoughtful and kind parent who was cursed or blessed to have four boys. Children as diverse in their talents and temperament as can be imagined. I always remember how cheerful and positive Dora was and how open to their children’s friends Jack and Dora where. I had a lot of fun at the J and D lodge at Regina Beach and I played more than a few games of pool on the downstairs table and drank way more of Jack’s beers than was fair. Your mom was industrious, and the many memories shared by friends and family all speak of her kindness. Although I only think I could call three of you brothers friends – you all are kind, hard workers. I have been fortunate to know your family and the world is poorer today for her loss. It was great to see her life celebrated with music and wonderful words. I liked your Uncles note the best. I think if there is one emotion, we all have shared through this pandemic, its grief.

IT IS WITH MUCH SADNESS I HAVE LEARNED OF THE PASSING OF DEAR MAGNIFICENT AUNT DORA AND EXTEND MY CONDOLENCES TO UNCLE JACK AND THE FAMILY.
WITHIN THE FAMILY OF JACK’S ELDEST BROTHER, MAURICE WHITING, DORA WILL BE LONG REMEMBERED AS A SPLENDID, AUGUST, MAJESTIC WOMAN OF GRAVITAS WHOSE ADMIRABLE SERENITY, VIRTUOUS FLAWLESS RECTITUDE, ENDURING LOYALTY, UNWAVERING DEPENDABILITY, UNCOMPLAINING FORTITUDE AND QUIET STILLNESS OF PURPOSE SERVED ALL SO WELL THROUGHOUT HER LIFE. A MAGNIFICENT HONEST WOMAN OF IMMENSE INTEGRITY, PROBITY, EXALTED CHARACTER, STRONG MORAL PRINCIPLES AND THROUGHOUT LIFE- SO AFFABLE, GENTLE AND KIND. INDEED, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO JUSTICE TO DORA’S MANY STRENGTHS.
AUNT DORA WAS SIMPLY ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE ONE REMEMBERS WITH GREAT AFFECTION. TO KNOW HER WAS TO DELIGHT IN HER – HER PLEASING PRESENCE, HER COMPULSIVE SMILE, HER TENACIOUS COMMITMENT TO THOSE SHE LOVED AND HER INSPIRATIONAL PERSONAL EXAMPLE AS A TEAM PLAYER MADE DORA MUCH COURTED BY HER MANY FRIENDS; THE GREAT RESPECT, PRAISE AND SINCERE APPRECIATION DORA EARNED WAS BEYOND MEASURE AND COMPELLED OUR ADMIRATION.
I CANNOT BUT FEEL THE DEEPEST REGRET THAT I COULD NOT HAVE SHARED AUNT DORA’S COMPANY MORE OFTEN – HER MANY COURTESIES AND WARM SMILE MADE LIFE GRACIOUS AND HER MODESTY CONVEYED A SPARKLING UNIVERSAL CHARM.
WE LOVED HER WELL.
WITH HEARTFELT SYMPATHY AND ALL GOOD WISHES, AUNT DORA SHALL BE SAFE IN MY HEART. SINCERELY, GARY WHITING.

Our sincere condolences to Uncle Jack and his family for the loss of dear Auntie Dora. As a child I experienced Dora's hospitality and kindness when I travelled out West to meet my relatives and as an adult, my Dad (Maurice Whiting) and Mom (Mari) and my husband and I were treated to a week's stay at Uncle Jack and Auntie Dora's wonderful cottage. I am so proud to belong to the Whiting clan.
More caring, sweet and generous people like Auntie Dora are needed in the world.
Love,
Pam (Whiting) and Art Clarke

To all the Whiting family, My condolences on the loss of a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. It seems like yesterday that we all were together at family picnics, the lake, Christmas, etc. Dora always made room for extra family around the table for these events, even though some times there were too many for the space. I cherish the memories of these days and hope that the memories you have will also help you as life carries on. Take care and we will see you soon.

Dora was a dear cousin and though I haven't seen her for several years I shall miss her. I have memories of family gatherings when we were children but also when we were grown up. Our Pollock aunts and uncles were a close family that were always getting together for holidays and special occasions.
My condolences to Jack and all the family.

It is hard to conceive that someone who has loved and cared for us so well and so long has left our world. Aunt Dora was like a second Mom to me and I am so grateful for the times that I was able to spend with your family growing up. I would like to think that she ,my Mom and Grandma Corteen are having a good time right now investigating and connecting with that family tree they spent so much time researching and talking about! Keeping you all close to my heart right now, love you lots.
