Martin and his PFRA girls he would call us. We will miss the tan button up sweater and the chains on your glasses and the birthday parties. I have kept a number of keypunch cards and every time I look at them they will remind me of him and the fun times we had at work.
One year when we went to visit him at his house we had talked about the historical white horse that I had given him a while ago. I was Czechoslovakian (Cheryl) and he was Hungarian and he had said for a truse the Czech's gave the Hungarians a white horse back in the days so I gave him a white horse.
It was a lovely service and will never forget what a truly great man he was.

Dear Marci! I have known you and Dici since 1958, and while our lives evolved in different ways, I never stopped to thank you and your family for all the kindness and fun that you have provided to me in Regina, in so many ways. You and Dici invited me to Long Lake where you taught me how to fish. Upon arrival to the lake, you threw your specially prepared bait into the lake, and low and behold, you got a strike in the first toss. A meter-long pike was fighting with you for a while, but you were successful in dragging him to the shore where the water was about six inches deep. Suddenly the hook got loose. OH NO! In a split second you jumped beside the fish and threw it onto the shore. That day you caught 17 fish while I got only 3. What a beautiful happy day that was!
You also invited me to play bridge many times, and we also went swimming to the YMCA. I particularly remember our joint venture, when we model tested your invention, a wooden culvert that was adopted by the provincial highway department for the secondary roads. Later, at PFRA, we jointly partook in designing the concrete conduit outlet of Shellmouth Dam in Manitoba, under the supervision of James North. You were responsible for the structural design, while I finalized the shapes of the conduits and the stilling basin. Later you became a specialist in computer program development and you provided much help for my staff in modernizing computer programs for flood routing. Thank you for all your help. We not only worked together, but we were singing together at the St. Stephen Hungarian Church, "Glorifying God in the Highest" as Dici was playing the organ, and my children by then provided service at the altar.
As my family grew, and Christmas was upon us, it was you, Marci, who became our family's "Christmas Angel". This role required secretly ringing the bells at our house, signifying the arrival of the Angels with the Christmas Tree at the time, when we were ready to celebrate the birth of the Christ Child, Jesus. As we were saying the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary, beside the tree... Through the window we saw you get up from the knee-deep snow where you ducked from my childrens' prying eyes. Thank you again for this kindness that gave so much to our family.
As time went by, you moved to a seniors' residence. We kept in touch through email and phone calls. It was not that long ago that we discussed the world situations.
All of these activities and your actions stay with me and my family as long as we live.So Marci, thank you for being such a good friend in all these years. Rest in Peace Marci.
Your highly respected fellow engineer, and loving friends, Lorand and Adrienne and the Family.
