Richard Pyle

Obituary of Richard Norman Pyle

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Richard. He was born on May 19, 1953 in Balcarres and died on July 30, 2020 in Regina. Richard was raised on the family farm which began a lifelong love of the land and of animals. He farmed for many years along with raising and showing cattle. Richard also developed an interest and extensive knowledge of birds. While on the farm, he raised, cared for, and showed a variety of birds (domestic and exotic). Richard later moved from the farm into Regina and continued his stewardship of the land, although in a much smaller way, through his flowers and garden. His yard was full of color with many plants, shrubs and flowers (along with a few Pilsner Rider flags). Over the last number of years, Richard worked with the SLGA where he developed several good friendships with coworkers. Despite some of the changes in Richard’s life, a constant was the companionship and loyalty of his animals (most recently his cat Taz). Somewhat stubborn, Richard was also kind, enjoyed a good laugh, could cook a mean cabbage roll and was always the ‘fun Uncle.’ Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Sophie, his brother-in-law, Melvin Zepick and is survived by his brother Cliff (Nicole) and sister Joan Zepick along with his nieces and nephews, Kevin (Crystal), Connie (Dale), Melissa (Dean), Nathan (Brandy) and Jeremie (Brady) and several great nieces and nephews. In Richard’s memory, friends so wishing may make donations to the Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143 Stn Main, Regina SK  SP 3G7. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
