Kenneth Swallow

Obituary of Kenneth Harold Swallow

Kenneth Harold Swallow of Regina passed away on August 6, 2020 at the age of 87.  Predeceased by a twin brother at birth, parents Harry and Doris Swallow and wife Janet Shindle Swallow, Ken is survived by his present partner Eileen Focht and family; his children Jim Swallow (Denise) of Regina, Cheryl Swallow (Stephen Reichert) of Vancouver and Karen Swanson (Grant) of Bucerias, Mexico; grandchildren Meigan, Brett, Ben, Amy and Ty; and brother-in-law Dennis Shindle (Janet) and family.

Ken was born in Yorkton, Sask and began his career at the Saskatchewan Land Titles before moving to Regina where he spent many years as the Registrar of the Land Titles.  He married Janet Shindle in 1959 and they started their family shortly after moving to Regina.   Ken had many interests over the years including playing the trumpet, racing sports cars, hunting, fishing, camping, and his favorite pastime golf.   He was a passionate golfer, traveling throughout Canada and the US with his family at his side, searching for the perfect course and winning game.  His collection of trophies was witness to his success.

After Ken retired, Janet and he began to spend winters in California and then Texas until her unexpected passing in 2001.  Ken met Eileen in 2004 and they lived happily together on the top floor of Waverly Manor with a great view overlooking the park. They also travelled and golfed together until Ken’s health began to fail.
