Obituary of Stephen Gregory Daum

We celebrate the passing of Stephen Gregory Daum from this life to his eternal home on August 12, 2020 in Regina, SK. He was born and raised in Palmerston, ON. Greg graduated as an Electrical Engineer from the University of Waterloo, ON. He worked in Toronto, ON and Dallas, TX before he moved to SK with his family in 1983 where he taught at SIAST (now Saskatchewan Polytechnic) for five years. He then formed his own company, Greg Daum Consulting. Greg was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Koona; his only sibling, George Daum (on April 15, 2020); and his nephew, Michael Daum (on June 3, 2020). Greg will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gloria; children Timothy (Krista), Suzannah (Tim Armstrong), and Jason (Angela Ricci); grandchildren, Kai, Tyra, Kennisyn, Winton, Ella and Winter; mother-in-law, Enid (Granny) Miller; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Forbes, Caroline Miller, and Elizabeth Morgan; brother-in-law, Paul (Dr. Mary Ann Jones) Miller; his dear cousin, Margaret (Eric Brown) Auld and family of Ontario. He will be fondly missed by his nieces and nephews, Mark and Kevin Daum, Rebecca and Julian Miller, Makenzie Morgan, Lucy and Katrina Miller and especially Dr. Melissa Morgan here in Regina; as well as the families of the Tapestry Community. Greg enjoyed travelling the world and was grateful that he was able to visit Australia, the last continent on his list, in January 2020, arriving back in Canada just as COVID-19 was closing in. He will be remembered for his wit, his love of people, and his mentoring of others. Special thanks to Greg’s family doctor, Dr. Lourens Blignaut, for his compassionate care; the Palliative Care Team of the Pasqua Hospital 3A; family and friends who visited, texted, sent emails, and brought his favourite desserts.
