I want to send my condolences to the grandchildren of the late Benjamin Hechter, who arrived in Canada from Romania during the reign of His Majesty King Edward VII, and the late mother of the late Dr. Hechter, who left Bessarabia during the regime of His Majesty King George V, on the passing of the grandnephew of the late Frank Hechter who served in World War I. My thoughts and prayers are with the sister-in-law of someone who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross when His Majesty King George VI was the Head of the Commonwealth, the descendents of Mrs. Hechter's relative who enlisted in the Second World War, and a lady whom my psychiatrist, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada member during the long reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, knows very well.

I am very sorry to learn about the passing of Candice's friend's family's matriarch. The wife of entrepreneur Mr. Micay and I had nice conversations about her family when she substituted in the special needs program I was enrolled in for years. It just so happened that I ran into Linda at Grant Park High School in April 2006 after having a nice conversation with Mrs. Micay just before the commencement of my social club on that evening.

I was very sorry to learn about the death of Dr. Chochinov's most recent family member. My prayers are with the friends of the late Mrs. Chochinov, my current psychiatrist's extended family, and the many benefactors that the late retired former surgeon (and father of Grant Park High School graduate, the vocational institution's former teacher and retired principal) had the privilege of working with, mentoring, and helping in times of trouble.

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Arnie. Though he and I talked about getting together at a coffee shop for a time of fellowship...it was not to be. I am left with warm memories of Arnie and think that Shakespeare's words are a fitting tribute to him:
..."the elements, so mixed in him, that Nature might stand up and say to all the world, THIS WAS A MAN!” ...without a doubt, a MENSCH.
Rest in peace, dear friend. Your departure leaves a void no one else will fill.

My husband Adolfo cut Arnold’s hair for over fifty years. Arnold always liked to look good from head to toe. The clothing business was a good fit for Arnold. He lived a long life and had many different experiences along the way. May Arnold now rest in peace.

I was privileged to have been friends with Arnie for the past twenty odd years. I first met him when he travelled on Air Canada and I worked as a passenger agent at the Regina airport. It wasn’t long before our chats at the airport grew into lunches and many phone calls checking up on one another.
I learned much from listening to stories of his life experience, so varied and extensive.
My sincere condolences to Arnie's family at this time.

Arnie Schwartz - pound for pound the toughest man I knew. Could crush your hand with the firmest of handshakes.
I remember many visits to the Sask Hotel with your big brother Alex (my mentor in business) every time we came to Regina. It was a treat to see you both argue so much yet love each other even more! You did it your way right to the end.
As you always say .....”carry on with courage”

I have met Arnie at Hunts limited, eventually he became a good friend. I have learned a lot about fine cloths and style from him.
He had a zest for life, always full of enthusiasm. There is always a story to share. He was probably the fittest 95 year old in Saskkatchewn until his passing.
He will be missed but will not be forgotten.
My heartfelt condolences to his dear family

Sincere condolences to Candace, Linda, Morry and families on the passing of your Uncle Arnie. I met Arnie when my family and myself were living in Regina. It was Just prior to the annual Hadassah Bazaar and I was in charge of donations. I had called Arnie at Hunts requesting a donation to which he replied, “Young lady, if you expect a donation you are going to have to come down to the store to get it.’ I did and that was the beginning of a 35 year friendship. יהי זכרו לברכה

The first time I met Arnie was at a Passover Seder at Beth Jacob Synagogue. He sat across from me and throughout the evening regaled me with all sorts of stories. His demeanour reminded me of my late Uncle Sam, a "Montreal Jewish gent", kindling fond memories of the good old days when up to 20 family members congregated around the dining room table to celebrate Jewish holidays.
My deepest condolences to Arnie's loved ones.

Such very sad news to receive this weekend. I met Arnie at Hunts in the Hotel Saskatchewan when my wife and I first moved to Regina in 2000. He became first and foremost a friend through whom i learned much about the community. He was also the finest tailor I ever met. To be measured for a suit by this fine man was to step back in time to the true era of bespoke tailoring. As a retailer it was always clear that Arnie had the eye and the connections to keep his retail vision at the leading edge. With his retail and service philosophy he would have been successful in any city in Canada. It was to the benefit of all his customers that Regina was his home.
I saw him every time I returned to Regina after we moved to the Coast in 2005 and in later years spoke with him with some frequency by phone.
His love of people, his eternally optimistic outlook and his service to the community will remain in my memory always.
Rest in Peace my friend.
Beverley and I send our condolences to family members and friends.

Arnie, I was very caught by surprise and saddened to hear of your passing. I believe it was only a month or so ago that you phoned me to talk about my family. I have always been amazed at the things that you remembered and appreciated your close tie to my great Uncle Reuben Sinclair who will be celebrating his 109th birthday this December 5th. I remember so well the day when you came to see me and we sat on my front porch and talked for about an hour. You were very excited to pass on some medical information that you wished for me to pass on to Uncle Reub's family that could possibly help with his failing vision and you followed up at a later date to see that they got it. You seemed so full of life and happy. I will miss hearing from you and your stories of days gone by. On behalf of the Sinclair family, I send to your family our sincere condolences. If not for Covid-19 I would have certainly attended your funeral service.
Rest in peace my good friend.
You deserve it

I've known Arney for 45 years. I purchased my first suit from him at that time for my wedding. Over the years, I frequented his fine store and we became friends. We had food, drink and good conversations over these years. He was a kind, generous man and I treasured our time together. For a number of years I would phone him on Nov. 11 to thank him for my freedom. This year, I forgot and he phoned me. I will miss him.

My ole buddy Arnie! We spent many hours in my office at the bank talking about life. I will miss those visits, you were one of the most honest people I ever met. You told it like it was and I always enjoyed listening to the stories of your life. I will miss you my friend.
