He is survived by his beloved wife Holly; and his children, Brody Jaques (Sarah), Chelsea Ceulemans (Josh) and Karlie Schultz (Nick). He also leaves behind six amazing grandkids whom he loved with all his heart: Jayden, Davin, Kingsley, Callie, Payton and Avery. Daryl is the second oldest of four siblings born to Leonard and Patricia Jaques on November 17, 1951 in Regina, SK. He is survived by his siblings: Doug (Enid), Dana (Henk) and Scott (Loretta). Daryl had a number of career aspirations starting at a young age. He graduated in 1980 with his degree in Geology from the University of Regina, then obtained his Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Royal Roads University and retired from the PFRA in 2013 after 33 years of service. Daryl loved the pursuit of education, and never stopped learning. He became proficient in French, studied astronomy and was recently in the process of seeking further education. He enjoyed cheering for the Riders and was a season ticket holder for over 40 years. Daryl leaves behind his beautiful and loving wife Holly of over 40 years. They had a very special bond that their children benefited from. The way they would always make each other laugh will be forever remembered. They shared secret smiles that only people close to them would notice. Daryl’s passion for cars never got in the way of his first love, Holly. Daryl was a very dedicated and loving father when it came to his children. Nothing would stop him from being involved in what they wished to do. This allowed him to form very special and individual bonds with each of them. He was always present for hockey, baseball, football, dance practice, competitions or late night pickups. Daryl will be greatly missed by all who knew him especially by his friends, family and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as his loving furry companion Zora.
