To Bill & family, I am devastated to read the very sad news of the loss of Karen. At 16 I was the luckiest ever English girl to have an exchange trip with Karen and have the most amazing memories of her visit to the UK and my return trip to Rouleau. Karen was truly the kindest, warmest, friendliest person and I am forever grateful for the time spent with her that summer and then some years later at your fabulous wedding. My heart goes out to you Bill and to Keith & Krystal of whom she was so very proud. My sincerest condolences to you all, sending love and hugs from the UK. Joanne Wlazlo (nee Green)

Krystal and Keith, thank you so much for your courage in delivering that incredible tribute to your Mom. When I wonder how you managed through that, I remember that you are Karen Aulie's kids and she'd have it no other way. Thank you for shedding even more light on the lady I knew and loved. I went for a "walk to remember" after the service and happened past the TC Douglas Building where Karen and Krystal hosted a government-wide boot camp on the big lawn (there was a photo in the slide show that reminded me as well). Anyway, after the workout Karen basically invited the entire group to join PSC on Thursdays for our regularly scheduled boot camp. As the boot camp coordinator, I said to her afterwards, Karen, we have room for like 20 people max and there's already 14 that come!! She just shrugged and said "oh well!". Luckily we only had a couple of folks from Highways that took her up on that offer!
I have many memories like that, empowering is an understatement. She let me be me, and that's saying something. I've made some promises myself. Take care of yourselves and your families.

It was a great shock to hear of Karen's passing. Karen shared so much Enthusiasm and Love for Life. She was a person whom everyone Aspired to be! She had a way about her that made you feel special as she truly was.
We will always remember and cherish the times we spent together in our hockey world. We remember a trip to visit Bill and Karen's farm for fresh apple pie and coffee.(a perfect day). We still laugh about the "boat gas" we shared and the deep fried turkey incident!! The camping trips were precious and not often enough. Our visits and times spent together will always be remembered.

Bill, Keith, Krystal and family,
I was both shocked and saddened to see the obituary for Karen. I worked for Karen at the Public Service Commission. She was an awesome boss! I feel very fortunate to have worked for her and to have known her. I worked at the PSC when Keith and Krystal were born, and she was there when my children were born too. I will never forget her! So young and so full of life. My deepest sympathies to all of you.

Gerry and family of Karen, our thoughts are with you over the miles knowing the pain of your loss of Karen. We felt we knew Karen from the many chats over the bridge table as Gerry and Adeline told us of her achievements and the grandchildren.
We send Prayers for you all across the miles from NB to Saskatchewan.

Karen was amazing.....so respected and loved.
My heart is so broken and I am still in disbelief.
I loved working with her, and loved her zest for life.
We are both so sorry Bill. Much love to you, Keith, Krystal and families. xo

I am saddened by Karen’s sudden passing. I so enjoyed working with Karen. She was a great leader and valued each member of the team. I was tired just listening to everything she was doing outside of work. My sincere sympathies to Bill, Keith, Krystal and the rest of the family.
