Reyce was always a source of strength for me. He helped keep me sane and keep me from sliding to terrible thoughts. It was a blessing to be able to spend time with him. He was a very adamant kid. He knew what he wanted and needed in the moment. I was happy to try and cheer him up as much as I could. It breaks me heart that he has gone on ahead of us. I am very thankful for the time I got to spend with him and for having him with me as we fought. I love you guys very much and pray God will keep you strong.

Dear Reyce’s family,
I am heartbroken to hear of Reyce’s passing. He has made a mark on my heart and was truly such a special person. He would come and help me supervise the kindergartens during my years at Hanna- he was such a helpful kid. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. I am so sorry for the loss of your brother, son, grandson and friend.

Dear Erin and family
Reyce will always be in my heart. I will forever remember that impish smile, and his love of life. He fought so long and so hard, and was loved by so many. He will never be forgotten, by his friends, family and his teachers at Dr. Hanna School. My heart is broken for everyone who knew and loved this remarkable young man.

I will never forget this wise and funny young man. Our families belong to that club that no kid should ever have to join. In the trenches together during cancer treatment and beyond, we forged a special bond. He was a force of nature, a natural chatter box - he always could talk your ear off! Though our boys were separated by the gap in ages, I am grateful for the hours Reyce and Tom spent together during treatment, distracting one another through gaming.
Even as youngster, Reyce had no filter! He always said what was on his mind. And could get away with it!
One of the cute/funny memories from clinic days is him somehow talking nurse H. into pushing him around in that Little Tykes car, like she did with the little ones - even though he was far from toddler size!
Other special memories... the wheelchair races in the halls of 5D (and getting in trouble for it!) Watching curling with Grandpa Ron while the boys gamed out. Going mini-golfing with all the kids. Our Grey Cup trip, the bond that created with so many families. Getting together for Reyce's birthday celebrations. Watching that amazing speech he gave for Camp and hearing from him about how much fun he had there. Being one of 'Reyce's Angels'. (Now, of course, he has the real thing...)
Through it all, Reyce somehow persisted. Thank God he was stubborn enough to keep on keeping on. The only consolation is that Reyce is not in pain anymore, but my heart hurts for all those he left behind and all the life he didn't get to live.
Sending love and light to the entire network of his extended family and friends.
Till we meet again,
Love from the Fahlmans

I knew Reyce for a few years in elementary school before he got diagnosed and had to go away, he was such a nice outgoing guy. We would always play Pokémon on our ds’s and talk about various video games while building snow forts or trading our Pokémon cards.
I’m sorry for your loss, he was a great guy and he’s going to be missed by a ton of people.
