Ed, late of Regina, SK, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the age of 84 years. He was predeceased by Beverley, his wife of 57 years. Ed is survived by his two sons, Ryan (Natalie) and Troy (Danette); daughter Shannon (Tim); grandchildren, Connor, Rachel, Michelle, Emma, Natalie, Violet and Lillian. Born in 1936 in Moose Jaw, SK, Ed started his power generation career as an oiler and fireman’s helper at National Light and Power in 1956. As he worked towards his first class steam ticket, he held various positions in Moose Jaw and Saskatoon. After managing the Estevan Generating Station, he moved to Regina where he steadily rose through the ranks at SaskPower, retiring as the Vice President of Marketing after a 36 year career. After his retirement from SaskPower, Ed found his passion working with the Ranch Ehrlo Society and its important vision where all individuals and families reach their full potential by contributing his marketing talents to their fundraising efforts. He and Beverley raised their three children to value the power of family and admiration of friends. Near the end, when Ed was asked, “What was the best part of your life?” he responded with “My family.” He could also be heard “bragging” about the accomplishments of his brothers, sister and his numerous nieces and nephews. An avid traveller, Ed blessed his children with worldly adventures through Europe and Northern Africa and he enjoyed his early retirement years as a snowbird in Portugal, Venezuela and Mexico. He was also a great entertainer and he and Bev enjoyed opening their home for fine dining parties, social gatherings and bridge club. Ed always had a strong sense of community, whether it be as a long term Rotary Member or as the President of the Resident Association at Wintergreen Estates, where he spent his final years. He never left a room without meeting everyone he could and taking a personal interest in their lives. Ed made an impression on all those he met. His pride and joy was his seven grandkids, his only regret being that he was not able to meet his first great-grandchild who is due in April. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ed may be made to the Ranch Ehrlo Society, 1951 Francis Street, Regina SK, S4V 6V1.
