Margaret “Elaine” Kozack (nee Gurney) lost her battle with Covid on Monday, March 8, 2021 with her family by her side. She was the sixth of twelve children born to George and Elsie Gurney in Eyebrow, Sask. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents George and Elsie Gurney; her husband Fred Kozack; in-laws John and Agnes Kozack; brothers Ken Gurney and George Gurney; sisters Eileen Fisher, Jean (George) Donbravo, Gladys (Jack) Wright, and Shirley Vilness; brothers-in-law Doug Ramm, and George McCallum; and sister-in-law Marie Latham. She is survived by her children, Denise (Neil) Cameron, Karen Maguire, Jeff (Kathryn) Kozack, and Tracy Kozack; grandchildren Jay (Sheila) Cameron, Tyler Cameron, Chantel (Evan) Adler, Riley (Maguire), Chace, and Shai Kozack; great-grandson David Cameron; brothers Chuck (Marlene) Gurney, and Ron (Sue) Gurney; sisters Bea Ramm, Joan McCallum, Marilyn (Bryan) Gatschene; brothers-in-law Ron Fisher and Norm Latham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Elaine grew up on the farm in Eyebrow and married Fred on October 23, 1965. Elaine worked at Sasktel for 10 years and SGI for 19. She loved country music, curling, and especially football. Elaine always said she was a couch potato when it came to curling or football season. She would tell friends and family “don’t call me. I will call you after the game.” Elaine loved to sing but couldn’t carry a tune. She and Fred loved to dance together. Elaine will always be remembered for her sense of humour and laughter. Even on her death bed, she was cracking jokes.
