An awful surprise! Haven’t seen Dale since my CN days in Bethune, but I certainly remember him well. Just a nice guy. Played ball with (Bethune Blues), used his hockey equipment for a seniors game, which I would prefer to forget,, I put his equipment to shame. Dale was always cool and didn’t seem to get too upset about things. Only wish we could have seen each other again. Condolences to the family. Bill Keast

When our work paths crossed, Dale and I talked about three things. Family, family and baseball. He always had a loving story to share about his kids and grands. He knew his ball and I enjoyed his insights about the game.
I'm sorry for your loss, he was a very good man. We need more Dale's not less.
Please accept my sympathy, he will be missed so much.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dale's passing. I worked with him from the SCIC office in Regina. He always had an interesting story to share and he sure loved a good laugh. Recently he took some clippings from some of my office plants and was planning on starting them at home - it wouldn't surprise me if they have all rooted and are enjoying their new home. We will all miss him a lot around the office. My condolences to his friends and family - he was a good man and spoke with great pride about his grandkids and family, and also of his community. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathies to the Ulmer family. I met Dale a few years ago through my work as a Field Consultant for the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association. I have ventured out a few times in the past 5 years to meet with Dale for coffee and a chat about Recreation in Bethune. We also had a few conversations about hockey, seeing that the Bethune Bulldogs had played against my hometown Kyle Elks a few times in Senior Provincial Playoffs. I am grateful to have been able to visit again in September 2020 so that I could see the wonderful new Spray Park that had recently been installed as well as have a quick catch up over lunch. Dale made an immeasurable impact to the community of Bethune and I am honored to have known him for the short time that I did. I will remember him fondly.

Thinking of the whole Ulmer family during this difficult time. So many fond memories of Dale during the hockey season. Half the team and girlfriends sleeping in the basement and when we came up Dale was frying bacon shirtless in the kitchen. The day I almost ran out of gas on a trip home on a Sunday when nothing was open.. and Dale to the rescue. An amazing man that touched so many...you will be missed dearly.
