Ethel and my Mother, Edna (nee McFarlane) were first cousins. Ethel's Mother, Louise Howes was sister to my Grandfather Alex McFarlane. .Ethel loved to keep in touch with members of the McFarlane clan located in various places in Ontario. Over the years visits went back and forth over the miles. In the summer of '65 while I was Student Minister at Bangor we visited the Hickey farm during harvest near Bethune. The next Summer we met again when my parents met Lawrence and Ethel where we lived at Manor.
We remember Ethel and Laurence visiting our family in Ontario with Laurence's Puppet the Dodo bird.
Ethel was keen of mind and kind in spirit May this humble and caring centenarian live on in our memories and rest in Peace.
