Deepest condolences Val...
I was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing,,,both of you represent an entire era in Saskatchewan military circles. I have always held the deepest respect and affection for Bob. At one time when we were electing an officer to represent our district to the Canadian Infantry Association, I nominated Bob for another term (which he won). I suggested he knew more about its needs than we did, and that we should just keep Bob as our rep till he started drooling. I also remember the year he wore the old "civil defence" coverall uniform as a protest till all his recruits could get the same uniforms as the rest of us.
He was a truly well-respected officer, a great leader of soldiers, and also a great guy. Val, though I haven't gotten to see you in a while, I still think fondly of both of you. God bless a good man now gone but not forgotten.Frankie & I hope you have close friends and family nearby to help you over these difficult times.
LCol Don Litz, Ret'd

Auntie Val,
To me you were always my Auntie Val and Uncle Bob. You came as a pair. All my memories are of the two of you together. Always so kind and thoughtful. Such a devoted couple with so many shared interests. So much to admire. I can’t imagine the loss you must feel. It warmed my heart reading Bob’s last words to you. I thought it was so beautiful. I am thinking of you.❤️
Love Jacquie

Auntie Val, my memories of uncle Bob are that he was a positive and joyful person. I think both of you have lived life to the fullest. It was also obvious from when you visited how much satisfaction both of you got from your involvement with the cadets. My heart goes out to you as Bob snd you appeared to me to be very much soul mates and I know you will miss him. Love Doug.

I first met Col Cade on Exercise Pull Pole IV January 13 to 15 of 1978. In particular he issued me with my first Rum Ration (issued for operations in austere environments). I subsequently got to know Bob better over the years through our connection in the Royal United Services Institute/Regina Officer's Mess. Bob was always a great gentleman and he will be missed.

Val, during this time I've been thinking of Bob a lot and what great neighbours you have been, the very best. I will always remember calling late one night scared that someone was outside my house wondering if you could hear it too, and Bob didn't hesitate and went to check it out, keeping us all safe. I'm so very sorry for your loss, our hearts break for you, may all of the memories you and Bob have together help you through this time, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Uncle Bob, When I think you, you are always laughing. You seemed to find happiness everywhere. I remember on one visit to Calgary, we took you and Auntie Val to a trendy restaurant for lunch. It was expensive and the food and service were terrible. We all cracked up when you said “I guess we would have been better off if we had just hit some local rib joint.”
You and Auntie Val were so lucky to have shared your lives together. Please know we will be there for Auntie Val now that you’re gone.
Much love, Patsy Elasz and sons Dino & Colton.
