I was a friend of Elaine's from way back and remember your mom well. I was part of the old Royal Street gang that grew up there in the post war era in the 50's and 60's. Your mother was always a very classy, dignified lady and even on her worst day, looked far better than the other mothers on their best day. I never saw her raise her voice or a hand to her kids and yet she had the nicest, most well-behaved kids on the block. The world today could certainly use more like her. I'm glad to hear she lived to such an age - her reward for a life well lived. Sharleen Lifton (nee Stevens)

Dear Marilyn, Bob, Karen, Rick and families, We were very sad to read today of your dear Mom's passing, and we want to send our sympathy to all of you. Her lovely obituary really describes her so well, and your love and affection for her is very apparent. We were privileged to know her a little, and certainly admired her always impeccable appearance as well as her zip and wide range of interests. Rick, Leah and Lindsey, I am so sorry for the loss of your very special mom and grandmother. I met her in the office a few times and was so impressed be her energy, warm and friendly personality and her humor. She was also so well dressed and looked lovely. Thinking of the family as you go through this time of reflection of your mom’s life. A good mother and grandmother is truly a gift. She was a nice lady with a distinct chuckle and what a Rider fan!
