To Peter, John and the Dixon family,
I am very saddened to hear of Jill’s passing. She truly was a beautiful, lovely and kind person. I have fond memories of seeing her every year at the Johnston’s Boxing Day party. She had a bright sparkle, and, as others have said, was always full of questions and interested in your life. Later in life, we would run into her in Regina and Fort Qu’Appelle, when we came back in the summers to Katepwa. Always so wonderful to see her, and always a warm feeling in your heart.
Condolences to all the family, Rest In Peace beautiful Jill.

Echoing all the others who have sent condolences, Jill truly was a soul who could always make one feel they were special in her life. Although many years have separated us physically because of my travels, she has always been in my heart. I am so sorry all our love was not enough to keep her here with us.
So many years of Katepwa main beach as young people and then mothers will always be the gift from Jill I will always cherish . All the Christmases we had together as our children entertained us with skits and costume parades will never be taken away. Jennifer, Ryan, Anne, and John were as close to being siblings as people can get without being biological family, at those annual gatherings. I hope you remember those days John, as fondly as I do.
May all the memories you’ve created with her as a wife, sister, sister in law, and mother be the balm that soothes your broken hearts. Peace and love to the Whitmore and Dixon families.

John and I were so very sorry to hear of Jill's passing. I first met Jill as an ardent customer of my store, Starstruck. She supported "local" before it was ever a thing! She had a way of being ahead of the trend. Each visit was like a breath of fresh air and any time I ran into her in years passed she would always chat and ask about our children and life.
Our deepest sympathy to Peter and John she will be missed by so many.

Peter and John,
I am so sorry to learn of Jill's passing. I truly enjoyed my connection with her and running into her on El Paseo more recently in the desert on her way home from golf with her floppy hat and fun garb. She was a gift to us all! A shining star radiating enough warmth and joy to light up the sky. I will be watching for her!!
Love and prayers!

Dear Peter + John. I’ve only just learned of this unfortunate news. I am truly sorry for your loss. I know Jill carried a heavy burden in her heart, but I always thought she burned so bright in this world. I’m grateful our paths crossed once again in California a few years back. I will remember her fondly. Sending you both and the rest of the family my love.

Dear Peter, John, and the Dixon family - please accept our sincere condolences on Jill’s passing. She was a gracious, elegant and empathetic person who genuinely lit up a room whenever she entered. I have fond memories of her - stretching way back to the B-Say-Tah vs. Katepwa days in the ‘50s and ‘60s when inevitably B-Say-Tah was judged to be superior. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I was so saddened to hear about Jill's passing. She was such a beautiful woman inside and out. I haven't seen Jill for a number of years but she always made me feel special whenever I did see her, always asking about my children - and making comments about them that I had a sense that she really knew them. I remember Jill as being kind, considerate, funny and always impeccably dressed and very stylish. She always looked so perfect but I know her life wasn't perfect and how much she struggled with the loss of Anne. She always talked about her, keeping her memory alive. Peter and John, and family, I know your memories will keep Jill's memory alive. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Peter, I am so sorry for your loss. I have wonderful thoughts of Jill and the entire Dixon family. In Regina, when Jill and I were younger we made regular trips to the DQ and on her suggestion we would have not only a sundae but a Mr Misty, too. She was fortunate to keep her bikini-perfect body while I was less so. During the era of slathering baby oil all over our bodies Jill was the first to get a tan and would come out the darkest by the end of the summer. We were friends in town but our summers at Katepwa were the best!! Of course, you know Peter, that us Katepwa people always thought our beach was better than Ba-say-tah. It must have taken a bit of talking to get her to move down to that part of the Qu’Appelle Valley! We spent lots of time at the Pelican Boat Club but as we got older we much preferred the Main Beach where the parents weren’t. As we got older still, Jill could always be seen up in the lifeguard tower where she was for a number of years. A summer couldn’t pass without a big corn roast at the beach. The corn always tasted better when it was stolen from Vidals farm. One summer it was a bit of a four-ring circus. Bruce Ferguson was crazy about Jill, I was crazy about Bruce and Bill Armit was crazy about Jill. Jill wasn’t crazy about either of them! She waited for you, Peter to come along!! The last time I saw Jill was at the Dixon cottage when Anne was a baby. I had heard about Anne’s accident and for a mother to lose her child the pain must be unfathomable. Obviously for Jill it was too much to bear even after so many years. We lost touch after me being away from Regina for so many years but hearing about all the friends she met along the way I am not surprised that there were many. My condolences to you Peter, John and the Whitmore and Dixon families. Karen Marcus (Young)

Jill made me feel special whenever I ran into her, always wanting to know what I was up to and what my family was up to. She truly cared about other people. Her elegant manner of dress and love of the colour of pink was her signature. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by many but who will hopefully find the peace she so deserves. Peter and John, my condolences to you on your loss. Lorrie Murphy
