Jill Whitmore

Obituary of Jill Whitmore

Suddenly and unexpectedly, Jill died at home on Sunday June 6, 2021.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Campbell Dixon (1970), and Aroon (French) Dixon (2003); her twin brother Jack (1992); and her beloved daughter Anne (1994). Jill is survived by her husband of 46 years, Peter; her adored and adoring son John; her sister Jane; brothers Chuck (Kelly) and David; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jill was a beautiful, gracious, kind and generous soul, and was a proud and perfect homemaker. She was joyous and fun-loving, made friends easily, and took her many friends and friendships seriously. Travel was her passion; she has been to many countries, and visited museums and art galleries all over the world.

Jill was happiest in California where she and Peter spent many winters. She had many friends there, and wherever she went, but she also had the quality of enjoying herself wherever she might be.  When she was in California, she would say that was her favourite place, when in Regina, that was her favourite, and the same when at the lake. She embraced every adventure and took advantage of every opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

However, beneath the surface of that beautiful demeanor she showed the world, the grief over the loss of her daughter never diminished and finally became too much for her to bear.  She will always be remembered and loved, and we pray she will find peace with Anne and Jack.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
