I worked with Darryl for many years in many capacities. As I have reflected on his passing, I remember Darryl as a strong, vibrant and boisterous man who swam against the current and sought to do what was right and important for those in need. Or for those within his sphere of friendship (and a large circle it was). He spoke his mind with determined precision and heartfelt enthusiasm. He didn't balk or hesitate at a challenge, pressing forward or adapting as necessary to accomplish the desired goal. I also played many a Kaiser game with Darryl and other friends and coworkers. It is a notable blessing and highlight in my life that coworker and friend could be one in the same. I am a better person for having known Darryl and I look forward to many more laughs in eternity. Joy and Sorrow, grief and gratitude mingle in the cup of love and friendship shared. You are missed and ever-present. Chuck

Brownie! … you are my sunshine and will always be. Your big hugs, gentle smiles, and uproarious laughter live on for me. I’m so very grateful for your love, friendship, wisdom, and caring, all through our lives as “best cousins”. You were patient, fun, exuberant, jolly, and adventurous!! The times I spent with you were precious. Laura and Becky looked up to you, still laugh at the fun we all had together, and loved you so much! I miss you but our special bond will never be broken. Darryl had the best laugh! He could make anyone feel at ease and special. He was a lifelong friend and, to quote my son Abraham, he was our lighthouse in a storm at a time when we needed that the most. I am forever grateful for his presence in my life.
