Obituary of Darryl Robert Browne

Darryl Robert Browne, 67, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

Darryl was born in Wynyard to Alastair and Lorraine Browne on December 23, 1953. He graduated high school in Swift Current. Darryl worked for several years with the Credit Union System before studying Social Work and enjoying an impactful career working in child and youth services, notably at Dales House and the Regina Children's Justice Centre in Regina. He loved doing anything that involved nature, animals, and laughing with family and friends. He was an active member and advocate for his community.

Darryl is survived by his spouse and partner of 40 years, Kim Sutherland; children of Frances and Darryl: Callie, Jolene (Daryl), and Dustin (Chalsey); beautiful granddaughters Haley Day (Josh), Jaedyn, and Nevaeh Paproski, Jordyn (Jon), Emma, Logan, and Amber Warkentin, and is proud Papa to apple of his eye Eli Browne; he is also survived by his special kids, Kim’s three children: Simon, Kamilla and Kate Wolk Lind; siblings Melody (Wayne) Salloum and Grant; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins that he held very close. He was preceded in death by his parents Al and Lorraine Browne; and his grandparents, Bjorn and Laura Josephson.

Extra special thanks to the care and support provided by Gretta Lynn Ell, special ‘Nephew’ Simon Wolk Lind and Palliative Care Services, their assistance made Darryl’s request to remain at home possible.

A service to honour and celebrate Darryl’s life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK., on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
