Brett, Brad, & Remy - I was saddened to receive the news from Remy of the passing of your dear Mom. I first met Shirley at Santa Maria Senior Citizens’ Home where we were both registered nurses. Because we both worked the evening shift, we quickly became friends, both at work & socially. Shirley was an excellent & compassionate nurse, & she was my mentor when I first started working with her. Her great sense of humour made coming to work something to look forward to. Shirley was a strong lady in spite of the many health problems associated with her MS. The only consolation is that her suffering is over & she is now at peace. May you cherish your memories of wonderful times together & may these memories help to comfort you in the days to come. My sincere condolences to Shirley’s entire family. She will be missed by many.
