Jim, Brenda and the kids were my neighbours first and friends forever after. We celebrated birthdays together, and Christmases and New years, even Valentine's Day. Jim was a wonderful dad and always put his family first, and was so generous with his friendship and his time. He always made sure Danielle and I were ok when her father was away. I was recently reminded of his generosity when I came across a video of when he gave Danielle a cell phone for her birthday. Yep, her first cell phone was thanks to Jim :). Jim enjoyed making people happy and his laugh was contagious! One of my best memories of Jim is when Jessica & Michaela learned his favourite Christmas song, Felix Navidad, so they could sing it to him at Christmas. He was so proud! I am so thankful to have been able to be a part of that day.
It was a sad day when they left for their new adventure half way across the country but an even sadder day when I heard of his passing. I always hoped they would come "home" again someday. Unfortunately for us, God had another home planned for him...one that I am certain he is fitting in very well...maybe even having a cupcake! Just like the one in my favourite photo of him. :)
He will leave a hole in everyone's heart just as big as his heart was. Jim, I still use "ticklemetina" as a login at times, thanks to you. Fly high my Friend <3

It is great sadness to hear of Jim’s passing. I met Jim while working with him at Capital Ford several years back. We started as co-workers but quickly became friends. Jim was one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in my life. His big hearty laugh always brought a smile to my face. I hadn’t spoke to him in quite awhile after I left Capital and one day I was at a red light and someone in a big truck was beside me honking, I look over and there was Jim with a big smile waving at me lol I will miss Jim and I send my most heart felt condolences to Brenda, the kids and the rest of the family. Rest easy bro ❤️

Jim was my cousin and my godfather. I have many sweet memories of the time we spent together, but I’ll never forget the kindness he showed me when I needed it most. In junior high, I was getting bullied terribly. The summer heading into grade 8, I was feeling isolated and alone. Jim brought me over to his house nearly every day that summer. We watched movies, swam, barbecued, and laughed so much. He was a shining light during a dark time in my life, and for that I will be forever grateful. The world truly lost such a beautifully kind soul when he passed. Sending all of my love to Catherine, Jim, Brenda, Jared, Jessica, Michaela, and Jameson during this incredibly difficult time.

James was many things to me and my family, he was my nephew, my godson, my daughters godfather and my three children’s cousin. There are so many memories I would like to share but for now I will just share this one. When James or J. I. as we nicked named him, when he was small he would love to help his Nanny Feeney put her groceries away especially her canned goods, James would crawl into the lower cupboard and stack his Nannies canned goods beautifully but when he would emerge he would have every price sticker on his face, we all knew he would do this every time but it gave him such joy to help his Nanny and the bonus was he got stickers. I guess why I told this story is for two reasons, #1 even as a child James loved to help others and #2 he brought so very much joy to everyone that had the pleasure to encounter him and if for only a moment be touched by his kindness and love. I pray God keep his family close through these sad times and know that your son, father, husband, nephew and cousin will be remembered with love. RIP sweet James ( J.I) Love your Aunt Mary.

I was lucky to have met the whole family through work, but then got to work with Jim. Jim always had a smile and a story. And he was so helpful! Jim was always helping with events and carting stuff for me, offering advice and suggestions and rounding up volunteers and prizes. He was a man with a huge heart and such warmth! I will miss you Jim!
