Kim was such a good friend. I could always count on her to be honest with me and we had so many serious conversations, laughs and hugs. She died far too young but I am so glad that she found happiness in love during her time with us. This photo was taken during library school at my Commercial drive apartment right after we had just made a giant batch of perogies.

Kim was my best friend in library school—that period of my life is filled with memories of her: talking on the phone, hanging out, going for picnics, and working on projects together. She was equally sweet and snarky in the best possible way. Sending love to Brent and her family—please know how much joy, love, and friendship she brought to my life.

I had worked with Kim at Central Children's from the day she started there. She was kind and cared about her Children's family. She was also very goofy, liked to have fun, and always kept her staff happy with sweet treats. I was very sorry to hear of Kim's passing, but hope that wherever she is, she is happy, free of pain, and surrounded by fur-babies. You will be missed...

Dearest, Kim. This news breaks my heart. You were such a beacon of light. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to work with you and to get to know you better and I was inspired by your kindness and gentle nature. I loved working with you and our trips out for specialty coffees on our breaks. I wish I had known you were ill and had the opportunity to speak with you one more time. Rest peacefully. My thoughts are with your loved ones. I will never forget you. Myra

Kim, you will be missed. Kim and I were fortunate enough to travel to the very last Canadian Library Association conference in Ottawa together. We had a blast! We wandered around Ottawa and accidentally found Parliament Hill. We supported each other quite often during my time at RPL. Our thoughts go to you Brent. We are so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Andrea & Kyle Newland

I was part of the leadership team with Kim at RPL. I especially enjoyed when we were put on the same team to discuss different customer service topics. She was so insightful and made me think about things in a different way. I will miss her sensitive and gentle soul.
My deepest sympathy on your loss.

I worked with Kim at RPL and considered her a colleague and friend. We shared a passion for early literacy and worked in the community to strengthen our services. In the beginning of her time away from rpl managers sent her our warm thoughts crystals , teas . We hope it brought her some comfort. I send again my sincerest sympathy to her husband and family.

To Kim’s family
I send my deepest sympathy. I worked at RPL when Kim first started in Childrens. My fondest memory was how she would take off her shoes and sit on her chair with one foot under her. She had a very relaxed way of supervising. I would see her walking in our,Neighbourhood and catch up with a bit of news.May she Rest In Peace.

I had the good fortune to work closely with Kim over the last year. She was always kind, always empathic, and always gave an ear to anyone who needed it. She cared and it showed. She rooted for the underdog and spoke her mind, but always in the most diplomatic way possible. I know I'm not speaking for myself when I said that Kim taught us to look at things from another perspective. She will be missed, but I feel very blessed to have worked with her. I'm sending love and support to you all, Brent and family.
