Kimberley McDonald

Obituary of Kimberley Ester McDonald

Kimberley Ester McDonald, 45, of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away too soon on January 28, 2022, after her battle with cancer, with the loving company of family and her husband Brent McDonald by her side. Born January 1977 in Toronto Ontario, Kim was the daughter of Leslie Csoko and Irene Csoko. Kim spent her childhood in Toronto and Burlington, moving to the west coast in her late teens. There she earned scholarships to attend Langara College for creative writing. She completed her education with a Master's Degree in Library and Information Sciences at UBC. In 2006, Kim met her soulmate Brent. It was a blind date, she was grumpy, he had some wit, she smiled and their love ensued. They married in 2008, relocating to Saskatchewan in 2013 where Kim began as Manager of RPL's Central Children’s Branch, later becoming Branch Manager of Central Library. Kim took great pride in her work and enjoyed leading with kindness and empathy. In her position Kim shared her passion for early literacy and unfettered access to information. Kim was loving, caring and compassionate with a beautiful smile and gentle nature that touched the soul of all that knew her. She loved reading, crafting and going for walks around the lake. But nothing made Kim happier than quiet times at home with Brent and their family of cats. Kim is survived by her loving husband Brent McDonald; father, Leslie Csoko; stepmother, Maria Sattler; mother, Irene Csoko; stepfather, Don Libby; brother, James Csoko; mother-in-law, Sallie McDonald; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Through her battle with stage 4 Endometrial cancer Kim inspired those around her with her incredible strength, resilience and positive energy.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will plan a celebration of Kim’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Regina Cat Rescue http://www.reginacatrescue.com/donate/
