Joan and I became great friends when we both entered the new 2-year diploma nursing program at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in 1967. We spent most of our time together laughing, driving her car "Gert", spending time with friends. She even sang in the Glee Club of student nurses that I directed. She was always way smarter than me! We graduated in August 1969 - I got work in Saskatoon and she in Prince Albert. I was so honored to be her Maid of Honour at her wedding to Al in December 1970. What a fun couple they were! When I moved to Victoria, they came to visit in their Mustang. But, as the years continued, our connections became less frequent - something I regret! I was so sad to hear of her accident and death. My condolences to all you, her family, from me. I am thankful for our years of friendship! May she rest in peace!
