To all of Jim's family, I send my deepest sympathy. I was in Truax from 1977 to 1981, our family got our drinking water from your parents farm. I remember all the evenings of cards, food and the wonderful recipes your Mom passed on to me. What a beautiful tribute the service of was.

Cherish the memories of your dear Dad. He was always so kind to Warren and me. Our fondest memories are of him cheering the Truax hockey team of which half were Kirk’s! War says he was pretty sure he came to watch him play but we all know he was there to watch , Kenny, Kelly, Danny Kilo and Allie- all the Kirks!! Another good one is the July First that we “picked him up” to play on our ball team. Those eyes of his were sparkling and we all had so much fun. He made me some beautiful wood jewelry- such a talented man. We know there is a team “up there” just waiting to pick him up.

Condolences to the family of Jim. My husband, Leonard Schuett was a first cousin to Irma and that is how I came to know these two wonderful people. Having these two as parents was a real blessing.

Jim lived his life in a manner that most of us can only hope to do. Enjoying the good times when they were around, being a positive influence on those around him, taking what you have and creating something special with it and then giving it away and, his biggest and most valuable attribute, always staying humble. He will always be remembered as the best of the best. It was an honour to know him and made me proud to be a Kirkpatrick.

Jim was my dads cousin and our families were always together through the years. My mom, Edna, and Jim's wife Irma were very good friends and spent alot of time together as young wives, mothers and later in life as retirees in Regina. Jim "Kirk" was such a BIG part of the Truax/Avonlea & area community, he was a friendly, hard working, hard playing sports kind of guy. He was always outgoing and laughing and would help anyone in Truax/Avonlea or anywhere else for that matter.
I remember one time when Jim & my dad (Neal) loaded up the car with all us kids and drove us into Regina to see The Ice Capades show, it was an amazing night of fun and quality time together as families, I never forgot that.
Other good memories are at the Ball Fields, the curling & skating rinks, the Community events, etc. When Jim was there it was always more fun and happier. That's a pretty great legacy to leave behind.
