Elsie Linda FURNEAUX (nee: Koehn/Langeman)

October 7, 1933 ~ June 14, 2022

 

Surrounded by love and presence of family, Elsie passed peacefully in Regina, SK. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the age of 88 years and 250 days.  Elsie was born October 7, 1933 on a farmstead near Main Center, SK. A year later her family built a log house in the Fairholm, SK. area where she grew up. She relocated with her family to Swift Current, SK. in 1952. This is where she met her first husband Arthur Langeman. They married on August 9, 1952 and together raised two sons (Larry and Reginald). The young family moved to Regina SK. in 1966 where Elsie worked for the Federal Government with P.F.R.A. and later transferred to the Unemployment Insurance office. Elsie was widowed December 1, 1976. A few years later she met and married Ronald Furneaux (also a widower) on March 5, 1979, who had two daughters (Ronalda and Linda). Elsie had many interests and loved lots. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Always making a point of attending most of their school, church, and extracurricular functions. She was an avid member of her church and spent a lot of time volunteering, and fundraising for different causes. She was also an active member of the Regina Red Hat Society. She took great pleasure in hosting and attending dinner parties. Elsie and Ron loved to travel abroad, with each other and their closest friends. She always told stories of visiting her sisters, one in Germany (Alma), the other in British Columbia (Vilora). Elsie enjoyed being outdoors in the summer months, and always planted flower and vegetable gardens at their home yearly. One of her favourite pastimes was just sitting on her deck basking in the sunshine for hours. Elsie was predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth Koehn, first husband Arthur Langeman, brothers Jake Koehn, George (Anne/Emma) Koehn, Henry (Ester) Koehn, John (Ivy) Koehn, Albert (Elsie) Koehn, Peter Peters, sisters Mary (Cornie) Epp, Katie (Orville) Fehr, Lydia (Charlie) Thomas, daughter Ronalda Morris, and granddaughter Tammy Morris. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald Furneaux, sons Larry (Linda/Holly) Langeman, Reginald (Maxine Scott) Langeman, daughter Linda (Tim Sass) Furneaux, sisters Vilora (Milt) Wittman, Alma (Oscar) Kerscher, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK. on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. A public viewing is available one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, all friends and family are welcome to attend. The graveside will take place at Riverside Memorial Park and is reserved for family only as per Ron and Elsie's request.
