My deepest condolences to the Mattie's family .
Norman was my boss and mentor when I was a young man working for the city shredder plant in the 1980's.
Little did I realize what I thought was a firm and hard supervisor , did I realize he cared and expected the best from the people he guided and taught.
That perseverance, commitment and fortitude was a template I took with me until this day , and as I look back to those days and see Norm's smile ,I realized how much he loved his employees and fellow workers , and I will always remember him for giving me the opportunity to be a hard " City worker " and to stay the course until the objective is complete.
Thank you and rest in peace Norman.
