My big sister...We were like 2 families, Vi and Bill were less than two years apart and then myself and Bruce came along and there was nearly 10 years between Vi and I. Vi bought my first pair of new skates, CCM's... Vi and a co-worker who had a son, planned a trip to California from Calgary. They asked if I would go along and act as a companion/babysitter for the lad who was a couple years younger than me,and a polio survivor who was supposed to wear a leg brace on his weaken leg. The plan was to eat breakfast in the motel, pack a lunch to eat on the road and then eat out in the evening. So there we are, 4 people in a compact car, luggage for 4 in the trunk,a cooler and food box etc on the floor behind the front seats. As occupants of the back seat, our feet never touched the floor board. My first official night to babysit was in Vegas when the girls went out on the town. We drove from Vegas to LA and the girls said lets not stop at Disney Land they're just opening it, we'll go to Knots berry farm. We could have been originals to Disney Land. My job was to unload and reload the car. The girls felt that trip was so successful that they would plan a trip to Ontario the next year, same cast only they decided to cut expenses so we would camp along the way. Well that lasted one night and it was about the 3rd night into the drive. So at every nights stop, unload and reload the car this time including camping gear. Those trips were the most memorable times with Vi and she was truly my big sister and hero for the way she raised her family and how she handled life. I hope you're with Mom,Dad,and Bill, but please don't wait up for me, I have a few more trips planned.....hube

One memory of Aunt Vie that stands out is when I was a child I was sitting in the back site of the car and Aunt Vie turned to me and said: "You have perfect eyebrows." Funny what we remember, but as small as this was it made me feel a mile high and I always believe it and have never had to do anything with them. Guess she was right.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

So extremely saddened to have read of Vi passing away and wish to convey my heartfelt sympathy to each and everyone of your family. I know how very much you will all miss this kind , gentle happy lady i had the pleasure to meet on my travels for a few years calling on your mom on behalf of Bayshore Home Health. My name is Heather and had to resign abruptly due to unforseen illness myself and your mother always held a very special corner of my heart from the time we met. Have thought of her this past year so many times. She was so delightful to visit, always a beautiful smile, and even a curling fan and brightened my day every time i called on her! Seemed so very content in Nancys beautiful Care Home surrounded by truly caring staff as well. May she Rest In Peace.
Sincerely Heather
