Obituary of Ola Violet Allen

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Violet Allen on November 4, 2022, after a lengthy struggle with COPD. Vi was predeceased by her parents Orla and Marjorie Petersen; brother Bill Petersen; and by her daughter Charlene Allen-Harrison. She is survived by her daughter Connie (Terry) Harrison; son Christopher Allen; daughter-in-law Deborah Allen; son-in-law Greg Harrison; brothers Hubert (Susan) Petersen; Bruce Petersen; her sister-in-heart Phyllis McDonald; and sister-in-law Marcia Williams. Nana will be greatly missed by all her grandchildren; Jacqueline (Derek) Beatch; Matthew Harrison (partner Christine); Nicole (Josh) Ostepchuk; Michael Harrison; Leah Allen; Nathan Allen (partner Miranda); James Allen; and by her two great-grandsons; Oliver and Austin Ostepchuk. Aunty Vi will also be missed by her nieces and nephews. Remembering Vi will be the many friends she made throughout her career with the Provincial Government, as a member of both Oil Wives and the Wascana Winter Club and as a proud honourary member of the Welsch Society. A special thanks to Nancy and the staff at Westminster Care Home for making her last four years some of her happiest. A Come and Go Tea will be held in Vi’s honour at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, November 19, from 2-4 p.m. A service and interment will be held in Vi’s hometown of High River, Alberta in the Spring of 2023. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Vi to the Salvation Army.
