It is with great sadness and with heavy hearts that we, as a family, announce the passing of our great mother, Cynthia Joy Keewatin (Sangwais) on Thursday January 5, 2023. She was predeceased by her loving husband Lyle Sangwais; her grandparents Roy and Ruby Keewatin; parents Gordon and Ann Margaret Keewatin; brothers Kenneth Keewatin, Michael Keewatin, Andrew Keewatin; sisters Doreen Thorn and Beatrice Yaminiuk; children Crystal Keewatin and Dakota Keewatin; and grandson Dante Bitternose. Cynthia is survived by her brothers Richard Dubois and Gordon Keewatin (Betsy); sisters Lorna Standingready and Brenda Keewatin-Kinnon; her loving children Michael Le-jour (Corrine), Tiffany Keewatin (Timothy), Jason Keewatin, Curtis Redwood and Cody Tawiyaka (Ken); step-children Allan Favel, Randy Favel (Desiree), Milton Issac and Robin Sangwais; along with numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; as well as special nieces and nephews, Sheila Keewatin, April Keewatin, Ann-Margaret Keewatin, Alyssa Keewatin, Donna Standingready, Michelle Deschambault, Annie Hanson, Zelda Keewatin, Shelley McNabb, Pamela Bellegarde, Alex Keewatin, Lloyd Dubois, Cliff Dubois, Ashley Keewatin, Murray “mouse” Bellegarde; and her “Gus Gus” Anthony Keewatin.   Wake will be held at Peepeekisis First Nation on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 4:00 PM. Funeral Service will take place at Peepeekisis First Nation on January 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
