It is with sadness to hear of the passing of Evelyn Haider. It brings back memories when four young women shared an apartment somewhere on Cornwall St. (I think) in the summer of 1962. Cleaning was intermittently attempted. Meals were non-conventional and hit and miss. But parties with young men in attendance were frequently sought after and Evelyn displayed wonderful organizational skills at planning these events. The four young women were Evelyn, Corine Goebel who became a sister-in-law to Evelyn, Helen Sens, and myself. I can still hear the clickety-clack of our high heels on the sidewalks of Regina as we walked on our way to work. It was a wonderful time filled with many events which resulted in many special memories. Our sincerest condolences go to Evelyn’s family, and to Corine and Don, from Judy Ulmer Wilson and Wayne Wilson.

Janice Dumba posted a condolence

I would like to offer my condolences to Evelyn's family on behalf of my husband Gordon and myself, Janice Dumba.. We grew up in the same area,
went to Wiley School together and graduated from Markinch High School. My husband Gordon taught Evelyn in Grade 12. Evelyn was the same age as my sister Darlene(Schwartz) Hildebrand. I remember her riding over to our farm on her horse. We rode shetland ponies but not large horses like she did. She was a real cowgirl.
So sorry to hear of her passing. Our deepest sympathy,
Gordon and Janice Dumba
