Mr. Ohashi was an amazing teacher. His calculus class at Central Collegiate helped me excel in a UofS calculus class that I used to qualify for med school. Our geometry class was my favourite. A gem of a man.

After having been a student of Roy's at Central Collegiate in the sixties, a life-long friendship with Roy and Alice developed. It is wonderful to have special pieces of his artwork in my home and my thoughts and sympathies are with Alice and her children and grandchildren. I know it would make him smile to hear my husband say "phone your beloved math teacher" anytime my brain attempts certain calculations that still remain elusvie to me! My deepest thanks to Roy and to Alice for all I was able to share with them.

I was privileged to have Mr. Ohashi as a teacher at Central Collegiate from 1970 to 74. I believe we were able to help him work on a geometry text he was writing and were early uptakers of his high school calculus class. What a pleasure to be his student! My condolences to the Ohashi family. All that has been said about Roy is true. So, I will add a memory. Roy and I were part of the Regina Math Teachers Society and we helped put on the first accreditation seminar for Regina teachers.and this is where I heard from Roy at the introduction:about his name. Mr. Ohashi was my favourite teacher at Central Collegiate. Our class benefited from his gentle encouragement and willingness to trust us as we did a "work at your own pace" math class. I personally credit the calculus class he taught with helping me get a stellar mark in my university pre-med course. Our condolences as you grieve the loss of a great man.

Family of Mr. Ohashi, Our sincerest condolences on the passing of your Husband, Dad and Grandfather. We remember Mr. Ohashi as a wonderful teacher and very gifted artist. He taught our daughter Math while a teacher at Thom Collegiate and also volunteered his time to students at Scott Collegiate while our daughter was a teacher there. He was a great teacher and we are thankful that he was able to share his Mathematics gift with our family.
