Obituary of Richard Michael Konoff

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Richard (Rick) on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the age of 74 years.  He was predeceased by his parents, John Samuel Konoff and Stella Konoff (Roscoe); and his nephew Michael John Konoff; all off Regina, SK.  He left to cherish his memory, brothers, John (Joyce) of Regina, SK, and Don (Pat) of Calgary, AB.  Also nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Jeff, Jason, Danielle and Scott, whom he was very fond of.  And, numerous cousins, nephews, and grandnieces.  Rick was born in Regina, SK and lived here all his life.  He attended public school at Thompson Elementary School and high school at Balfour Collegiate.  Rick’s mother passed away when he was 11 years old and was raised by his Aunt Ann and Uncle Mike Lazurak.  He worked in the family business Eastend Grocery, Remco Memorials and also owned his own taxi cab business.   Rick’s favourite sport activities were swimming at the Regina Maple Leaf Pool, playing hockey, soccer, and baseball in the Regina Park League Systems. Rick developed cancer this past year but lost the battle.  He was a gentle, kind person who will be sadly missed. The family would like to express great appreciation to the staff at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, for all the care and compassion shown to Richard during his stay there. There will be no funeral service, however the family will have a private farewell in the summer at Rick’s parents’ gravesite.
