Deepest and sincere condolences to all who knew Darcy. So sad to hear of his passing. I worked with Darcy in the late 90s and again in the 2000s when he worked for gov. Of Sk. and I never forgot him. He was funny, quick witted and always had a joke that took a second to sink in but was always very funny. I'm sorry I never had the chance to reconnect with Darcy and never got a chance to drop off some elk meat which he always said was his favorite venison. Fly high and travel fast Darcy. Until we meet again.

Darcy and I put on a lot of miles hauling our sons, (Luke and Jesse) to baseball and hockey. To say his humor could be blunt was a gross understatement. After a bantam hockey tournament game in Prince Albert the boys and dads headed to a Humpty's type restaurant. As we all entered the server would ask, "Smoking or non-smoking?". As we settled in and looked at menus, somebody asked, "Where is ________?". Darcy's deadpan response was, "Probably sitting in the non-hitting section!" (The kid could skate like the wind but avoided contact like it was leprosy.)
Darcy worked a lot of years with young men learning the carpentry trade. He was a project manager in the restoration of the beautiful Wolseley Opera House (now their town hall). He told me stories of the build process where he dispensed as much advice about life lessons as he did his carpentry wisdom. One day he overheard a conversation between 3 or 4 of the boys where the final statement was, "I wouldn't do that, Old Whitey will be pissed!" Darcy had a good laugh at that. He loved to laugh, even at himself.

I have a ton of great memories driving to hockey to the Fort and Melville with Darcy/Luke, Doug/Brad and my father. Darcy's witty sense of humor is something we all can cherish and remember.

He was the Centre to my right when the guys asked me to play up. He coached us some ball. He played some Eagles . He showed me how to do a compound angle cut.
He also swore at me for not passing the puck to him... But always slapped me on the back when I or we scored anyhow. He was a good friend to me......

My profound sympathy goes out to Rose, Cindy, Luke, Alicia, Barry, Wendy, Karla, Trina and all those in Darcy's extended circle of family and friends at this very difficult time.
Darcy could be very funny, and he could make you laugh and he could make you cry. I am crying right now, trying to make some sense of his passing.
We grew up on the same street in Stoughton, and I can only vaguely remember time before him. From my earliest remembrances, when Darcy got on a roll, I would just sit there in awe, and hope that I could also breathe in some of that special air that drove him. We spent hundreds, maybe thousands, of hours doing things like perfecting our knuckleballs, inventing new constellations in the night sky, adoring our beloved Rusty (Le Grande Orange) Staub, Steve Rogers, Tim Raines, Ronnie Lancaster, George Reed, Davie Keon, Tiger Williams, Lanny McDonald, Darryl Sittler, Borje Salming and Wendel Clark, shooting pool in the basement and rats at the nuisance grounds, rafting on the slough, making tree forts out in the slough bluffs, biking to Heward to play tennis, and our co-favourites - street, slough and organized hockey. Who says small towns are boring places to grow up?
I can't count the number of times that I had the honour of tucking the puck past an out of position goalie into an empty net because Darcy had just made the perfect pass that no one else saw coming. Darcy couldn't run very fast, but when you hit the ball that far, you can jog around the bases, with purposeful swagger.
Darcy read the paper from cover to cover and always had an informed opinion. Our conversations always involved debating the state of politics - locally, provincially, nationally and internationally.
When we were kids, I always knew where I stood with Darcy. We bloodied each other's noses multiple times, but all was always forgiven. He was always ready with the hard question that most people left unsaid. When you didn't answer fully and truthfully, he knew he was being fobbed off. The question would get asked again, this time more explicitly. This didn't endear him to everyone.
Darcy respected the truth and he made you think. Above all, he was a good person that I was proud to call my friend.
Good night sweet prince: And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

So sorry to hear of Darcy’s passing - on behalf of the entire Allan family, I’d like send our condolences to Rose and the rest of the Levesque crew.
I’ll always remember Darcy as being a good kid and a talented athlete. In the 1970-71 hockey season, I coached the Stoughton PeeWee Northstars and Darcy was our Captain - he was a leader!
In this image taken by the great Johan Svorkdahl, you’ll see our defensive corp - RIP Darcy!!
