LEVESQUE, Darcy Peter Albert

May 8, 1961 – April 18, 2023

Darcy Peter Albert Levesque, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the age of 61.

He was predeceased by his father, Albert Levesque.

Darcy will be lovingly remembered by his mother Rose Levesque of Weyburn, Sask; daughter Alicia (Duane) Willoughby; grandchildren Delia, Hunter and Chayse of Radville, SK; son Luke (Christina) Levesque of Australia; bother Barry; and sisters Trina, Wendy (Don), and Karla (Marvin); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Darcy was born in Forget, SK on May 8, 1961. He grew up in Stoughton where he attended elementary and high school. After graduating high school, he took a job working at the mines in Rocanville. After a couple of years, Darcy moved back to Stoughton and took up carpentry, attended Siast in Moose Jaw and received his Journeyman papers in Carpentry. He worked for several years in the Stoughton area perfecting his love for construction whether it was a small job like soffit and facia or a large project of building a house or grain elevators. Later in his career Darcy moved his family to Indian Head to continue working in the construction field with the Saskatchewan government.

As a child Darcy loved baseball, hockey, volleyball or being the lead in Drama. He was an excellent pitcher and catcher with the Stoughton Senators where he is in the Stoughton Sports Hall of Fame. Playing center for the Stoughton Eagles, he played until he was in his forties and continued to play old timers’ hockey during his time in Indian Head. Darcy also loved fishing, bird watching, and golfing, spending many hours watching birds out the kitchen window and would always have such happiness when a rare or new type of species would be spotted in the yard. He had a very extensive stamp collection that he started when he was a child and was still collecting to this date. Darcy enjoyed watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leaf’s, those were his teams win or lose. He would sit at the kitchen table drinking his morning coffee, reading the Leader-Post and studying the stats for all the teams. His love for reading made him a very smart, intelligent person who always had a sharp answer when asked. Darcy had a smile that would light up the room, he always had something goofy to say or a comment that would get the look. He loved to bug and play with his children.

Darcy was a pillar to his family, making sure they were looked after and cared for. His family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the support and kind words. You never really know how mental health affects someone until you are faced with it. May Darcy rest in peace and be pain free.

At Darcy’s request there is no funeral service.

Anyone wishing to make donations can do so too The Canadian Mental Health Association, Saskatchewan Division, 2702 – 12 Avenue, Regina, SK. S4T 1J2.
